AERA membership provides individuals in the field of education research with access to the latest developments and the top researchers in the field. In addition, AERA provides members with the opportunity to make a difference in education. AERA takes those issues that are most important to our members and brings them to the forefront of the public policy debate.

The AERA membership year runs on a calendar basis. New or returning members who join in October – December will pay the regular dues rate, covering the period between January 1 and December 31 of the following year. Members who join or return during this time period will receive copies of Educational Researcher gratis through the end of the current year.

New or returning members who join anytime between January 1 and September 30 will pay the regular dues rate, covering the period between January 1 and December 31 of the current year. Members who join or return during this time period will receive back issues of the appropriate journals.

Hardship policy for members 

Mindful of the challenging economic times, AERA offers a hardship policy whereby members confronted with financial hardship due to unemployment or transitional difficulties may request a waiver of dues for one year. For more information on the hardship policy for members, please click here.

 
 
AERA Fellows Program

AERA members may be elected to the Fellows Program. AERA Fellows are nominated by their peers, selected by the Fellows Committee, and approved by Council to honor education researchers with substantial research accomplishments.
