Welcome to the American Educational Research Association's (AERA) Research Focus on Black Education (RFBE) Special Interest Group (SIG) webpage. RFBE is one of 152 SIGs within AERA--the world's largest educational research professional organization. With just under 500 members, RFBE is one of AERA's largest and most active groups. 

It's my great pleasure to serve as Chair of this long-standing SIG within AERA. The mission of RFBE is "to provide a structure and forum within AERA for researchers and developers who focus on educational issues involving Black clients (e.g., students and professionals). Over the next 3 years, we will build upon the history, legacy, and recent accomplishments of RFBE to further develop early career scholars and graduate students, promote the scholarship of experienced and mid-level researchers and practitioners, as well as re-engage senior scholars in meaningful ways. At all times, we will remain committed to purpose, passions, and people.
