Message from SIG Chair

The Catholic Education SIG continues to support and impact Catholic schools and the students and families they serve.  Our 2015 annual meeting in Chicago was a great success. The SIG hosted several major events including paper sessions, a symposium, and roundtable discussions. At our Business Meeting, we presented the Catholic Education Dissertation Award for research related to Catholic schools. Please promote this opportunity to young scholars for 2016.

Research on Catholic education is vital not only to Catholic schools but to the entire educational spectrum.  For this reason we must continue to increase our visibility within AERA, particularly in membership and the number of presentation proposals. We are growing steadily and looking to expand further.  Please invite your colleagues to join our efforts to transform Catholic education through research.

The Call for Submissions to AERA 2016 in Washington, D.C. is now open!! The deadline to submit your conference proposal is July 22, 2015.

We look forward to seeing you there!

-Karie Huchting, Ph.D., Loyola Marymount University
